my life story
roots & Resilience
I come from a hardworking immigrant family, where resilience wasn’t just a trait—it was a way of life. My parents came to the U.S. from Mexico with limited resources but an unwavering commitment to building something better for their children. They worked long hours in physically demanding jobs, carrying the weight of their dreams quietly and consistently.
Education was always held in high regard, even if it felt somewhat abstract. We didn’t always know how to navigate the system, but we believed in the value of learning. As the eldest daughter, I learned early on the importance of responsibility, resourcefulness, and showing up even when things weren’t easy.
This foundation taught me how to create something out of nothing—to build with limited tools, to find beauty in the process, and to trust that even small steps can lead to meaningful change.
the dream & the doubt
Pursuing higher education was never a given—it was a decision marked by uncertainty, financial strain, and unfamiliarity. But it also felt necessary. I knew a degree wouldn’t solve everything, but it could help me find a support system who believed in me and open doors that had been closed to my family for generations.
At Trinity University, I majored in Computer Science—a field that challenged me both intellectually and personally. I was often one of the only women of color in my classes, which came with its own set of pressures. But it also taught me how to advocate for myself and for others.
College became a space of discovery. I sharpened my technical skills while also exploring creativity through photography, writing, and leadership. I gained confidence not just in what I could do, but in how I could think, solve problems, and contribute meaningfully.
What began as a pursuit of technical knowledge evolved into a much broader mission: using technology and design to make a tangible impact. Since graduating, I’ve worked across full product lifecycles as a software engineer, and had extensive experience in design, marketing, and media leading up to it. My career has spanned fintech, law, education, and government—each role helping me refine both my skill set and my sense of direction.
Why Work With Me?
I created JGT Media to offer a full-spectrum creative and technical service—combining the skills I’ve developed across engineering, design, and storytelling to help clients build something real.
I won’t claim to have it all figured out—but I do know how overwhelming it can be to turn an idea into a cohesive online presence. Whether it's designing a website, building backend infrastructure, creating visual content, or figuring out how to market effectively—there’s a steep learning curve, especially as technology constantly evolves.
JGT Media helps bridge that gap. I work with clients who need someone who sees both the big picture and the technical details—someone who can guide them through, make it feel possible, and deliver results that feel aligned, intentional, and clear.
I’m still learning, like all creatives are—but what I bring is a thoughtful, hands-on approach that’s rooted in both skill and care.
